The Engineering Student Centre is your first point of contact for programme enquiries. Staff are available to assist you with enquiries on a drop-in basis or by appointment. Our services include:

  • General information.
  • Course planning assistance and enrolment advice.
  • Access cards and printing credits.

General information

  • Postgraduate support services: Useful links to personal, academic and financial support available throughout the University.
  • IT essentials: WiFi access is available throughout the campus by logging in with your username and password. Click here for further instructions and information on our IT services.
  • Security access essentials: Postgraduate engineering students are generally allowed building access between 7am and midnight, 7 days per week. Access to specific labs and facilities is based upon your programme needs and specifications, and is thus subject to your department's approval and safety policies. Click here for additional information on access, and visit the Student Information Centre if you need to find out more about ID cards.
  • Health and safety: Please read the information on our health and safety page carefully. The University of Auckland and Faculty of Engineering Policies and Guidelines may also be veiwed by contacting our Director of Faculty Operations (extn. 89261), or any Departmental Manager within the faculty.
  • Second-hand textbooks: Second-hand books are sometimes available at the beginning of the semester – the campus bookshop, UBS, may provide a limited number of second-hand textbooks to be purchased in person. You can also check the noticeboards throughout the faculty or online retailers.
  • Libraries and Learning Services: Libraries and Learning Services at the University of Auckland provides resources and services to meet the research, teaching and learning needs of the Faculty of Engineering.  
  • Health services: The University Health Centre offers primary healthcare and conselling to services to students.
  • Clubs and associations: A huge variety of social, academic, and interest-based clubs and associations are available for engineering students to meet others and network outside of study. Click here for a list of them.

  • The University of Auckland mobile app: A handy resource for finding your way around the university. It’s compatible to Apple and Android phones, and there’s a web browser version for PC and Mac. Find out more about it here.
  • MyAucklandUni student portal: This portal contains personalised information including your calendar, timetables, email notifications, course updates, library information, financial information and personal details. Click here for extra help.

Departmental postgraduate advisers can assist with course offerings, research projects and potential supervisors.

Dispute and harrassment support services

AUSA advocacy The Auckland University Student Association provides academic, financial and general assistance. They can offer advice on issues such as enrolment and academic challenges, financial assistance, and support for disciplinary issues. They also provide special facilties such as ParentSpace.
