Postgraduate scholarships
The following scholarships are available to postgraduate engineering students.

University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarship
- Up to $33,000 in 2023, domestic PhD fees and Health Insurance (if applicable).
- Applicable study: PhD in Engineering.

Andrew Pullan Bioengineering Masters Scholarship
- Up to $13,260 for up to one year of full-time study or equivalent.
- Applicable study: ME Thesis in Bioengineering

AUEA Braithwaite-Thompson Graduate Research Award
- Up to $10,000 for one year for assistance. Up to two awarded.
- Applicable study: International student undertaking a ME, MOR or PhD in Engineering.

Bill Miller Engineering Award
- $2,500-$10,000 for assistance.
- Applicable study: Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate study in the Faculty of Engineering.

Colombo Plan Scholarship in Engineering
- $3,000 for one year for tuition fees.
- Applicable study: International student studying in the Faculty of Engineering.

Don Linklater Memorial Bursary
- $3,000 each year for up to three years.
- Applicable study: Enrolled and studying studying in 2016 at undergraduate or postgraduate level, either internally or extramurally, in a field relevant to Horizons work. Relevant areas include; resource management, environmental planning, environmental engineering and modelling with particular emphasis on river and drainage basin dynamics.

The Dick and Mary Earle Scholarship in Technology
- $17,000 per annum at Masters level and $25,000 per annum at PhD level.
- Applicable study: NZ citizen or Permanent Resident interested in research in innovation and product development, or bioprocess technology.

Douglas Goodfellow Scholarship in Engineering
- $2,500 pa. for one year for assistance.
- Applicable study: Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students at the Faculty of Engineering.

Energy Education Trust Masters Scholarship
- Up to $8,000 towards assistance with study. Up to 5 scholarships offered to participating universities.
- Applicable study: Masters study in energy-related field

- $5,000 for assistance
- Applicable study: ME or PhD in Mechanical Engineering

Faculty of Engineering Student Support Award
- Up to ten Awards of up to $2,500 per award
- Applicable study: Undergraduate or postgraduate study in the Faculty of Engineering

Francis Small Scholarship
- Up to $20,000 for one year for assistance
- Applicable study: ME (Research) in a topic related to Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering

Freemasons Postgraduate Scholarships
- The Freemasons Postgraduate Scholarships are to assist able students who are active in their involvement in the community, to complete their university education in their chosen field. Up to $10,000.
- Applicable study: Available to postgraduate students of all disciplines, this scholarship helps students who are active in their involvement in the community, to complete their university education in their chosen field.

Jeannie Cheong Lean Eng Memorial Engineering Award
- $3,000 for one year towards international tuition fees.
- Applicable study: Malaysian citizens who are international students undertaking postgraduate study in Engineering.

Kupe Leadership Scholarship
- Up to $24,1000, with optional accommodation
- Applicable study: Full-time study in a postgraduate diploma or Masters degree

Mercer Memorial Scholarship
- $3,500 pa. for one year – assistance to engage in original work.
- Applicable study: Students who are undertaking postgraduate research in Aeronautics.

Penny Peng Wang Scholarship
- $2,000
- Applicable study: Student enrolled in the Master of Engineering Studies specialising in Transportation and enrolled in CIVIL 770, Transport Systems Economics.

Prime Minister's Scholarships for Asia and Latin America
- Value of the scholarship is based on the level and length of study, the destination country and institution. It can cover travel, accommodation, course fees and living costs.
- Applicable study: Undergraduate or postgraduate students wanting to undertake study and/or research in Asia or Latin America in programmes between six weeks and two years duration, in a subject area that can be linked to New Zealand's economic or trade agenda.

Thanh Cao-Dac Postgraduate Engineering Award
- Up to $16,000 p.a.
- Applicable study: Citizens of Vietnam, who are living in Vietnam at the time of application, for enrolment in a masters or PhD at the Faculty of Engineering.

- Up to $13,390 for up to one year of full-time study or equivalent.
- Applicable study: ME Thesis in Bioengineering

University of Auckland Acoustics Research Centre PhD Scholarship
- Up to $27,300pa plus compulsory fees and international health insurance (if applicable)
- Applicable study: PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship
- Up to $10,000 towards international student fees
- Applicable study: PGDip or Masters (taught) of 120 points of more

University of Auckland Partnership Appeal Awards
- $500 - $5,000 to assist with study related costs.
- Applicable study: Final year of an Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree programme.

- Up to $13,260 plus compulsory fees.
- Applicable study: Students applying for an honours degree or an approved postgraduate diploma with a research component of at least 30 points.
