Biography

I have a PhD in Construction Management and a Bachelors (Hons)  in Civil Engineering.

I have extensive research experience (including over 100 international journal publications) in disaster management, disaster recovery, and disaster reconstruction. I am currently working on a range of funded projects in disaster resilience, disaster recovery and disaster reconstruction. These include working with Auckland Council on their resilience strategy, working with Hunter Water in Australia on their resilience strategy and working on Christchurch recovery and the recovery from bush fires in Australia. I am interested in reconstruction and resilience and the management of the construction industry, especially in disaster environments.

I am the founder and Director of the Centre for Disaster Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction.
