Biography

I have a BE degree in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering and have done a PhD on the investigation of High Temperature Fracture of Steels. I have a lot of experience in materials microstructure and composition studies, electronic materials, mechanical properties, materials selection, metallography and microscopy and device application; working with wide range of materials and companies within NZ, such as coatings and corrosion resistance of Mg alloys, mechanical behaviour, thermo-mechanical processing of steels, cast aluminium alloys mechanical properties heat treatment and microstructure, together with metal coating systems.

I have worked at the University of Auckland since 1993 as an Assistant Lecturer, through to my current position as Senior Lecturer in Chemical & Materials Engineering and Associate Dean (Undergraduate) for the Faculty of Engineering.
