If you are applying for admission to the University of Auckland based on NCEA examinations, you must gain the University Entrance Standard and meet the entry requirements for the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) programme.

BE(Hons) programme requirements


In addition to achieving university entrance, the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) programme has additional specific requirements.

  • AS 3.5 Apply the algebra of complex numbers in solving problems.
  • AS 3.6 Apply differentiation methods in solving problems.
  • AS 3.7 Apply integration methods in solving problems.

Physics Achievement Standards (Level 3)

  • AS 3.3 Demonstrate understanding of wave systems.
  • AS 3.4 Demonstrate understanding of mechanical systems.
  • AS 3.6 Demonstrate understanding of electrical systems.
