Apply for admission

If this is your first time applying to The University of Auckland, or if it has been more than a year since you last studied here, you can apply for a place in the programme(s) of your choice by filling in the online Application for Admission.

  1. Read 'How to apply for admission' before you begin.
  2. Complete the application form at Students Services Online.
  3. Programme type – select Bachelors.
  4. Academic Programme – select Bachelor of Engineering (Hons).
  5. Academic Plan – select BEHON (Engineering Part I).
Note: You can also select one of our conjoint options (eg, BA/BE(Hons)) by scrolling down to the bottom of the programme list. You still need to select 'BEHON (Engineering Part I)' as one of your Academic Plans.
  6. To be considered under the MAPTES or Mature Age entry schemes (or both), select the appropriate option(s).

Application assessment

Once you have applied to the BE(Hons) programme and we are satisfied that you have supplied all the necessary documentation, we will review your application for admission.

Your application will be assessed and you will be notified of the outcome by email or a letter (generally by mid-January).

You can check the status of your application online using your login and password (if you don't know these, check the instructions on your acknowledgement email).

Notification of assessment

If you are not offered a place in the BE(Hons) programme you will receive an email or letter advising you that your application has been declined.

If your application is successful, you will receive an invitation by letter or email which formally offers you a place.

Your final offer of a place is dependent both on you gaining admission to the University (which for school leavers may be dependent on your final school results) and assessment by the faculty.

You can accept or decline the offer of place through Student Services Online.

There are a limited number of places in the BE(Hons) programme. If you do not accept your position in the programme by the date specified on the Offer of Place letter, we can NOT guarantee you a place in the programme.

If you do not have internet access you can accept your offer in person at the Engineering Student Centre.

Course enrolment

Using your login and password, enrol in your courses via Student Services Online.
