New Engineering Postgraduates

Monday, 19 February

A warm welcome to our new postgraduate students!

Orientation is an essential event, covering important information about your degree and the faculty support services for postgraduate students.

3:15-4.00pm: Postgraduate Engineering Faculty session, OGGB4, Owen G Glenn Building, 12 Grafton Road, City Campus.

This session will cover academic expectations, staff you need to know, upcoming events, and advice on accessing help and support.

4:00 – 4:30pm: Light refreshments will be served in the foyer outside the lecture theatre. Faculty academic and professional staff will be present to answer queries you may have.

Tuesday, 20 February: Employer’s Fair

2 – 3:30pm in in the main atrium of Level 1 of the Owen G Glenn Building.

This is your chance to meet with New Zealand employers from companies that are relevant to your specialisation. You can begin the networking process with companies working in a field that interests you. This is a great way to explore your future career options and discover new companies and organisations interested in hiring engineering graduates.



Thursday, 22 February: DELNA Screening

3:30 – 4:30pm Owen G Glenn Building, Level 0, Computer Labs 10, 11 & 12

To ensure we are able to actively support you with any English Language Requirements we request that you complete a 30 minute Diagnostic English Language Needs Assessment (DELNA) screening. These take place in one of the University’s computer labs. Identifying areas for improvement at the earliest opportunity will be conducive to ensuring your academic success in our postgraduate programmes.

We strongly encourage you to book in for a screening session during Orientation Week, by submitting a booking request here.
