Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering

Upcoming students may consider applying for our new Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering available from Semester One, 2018.


Programme structure

This is a 120-point, taught programme that requires the completion of six 15-point, non-project courses listed in the Master of Engineering Studies schedule. Please note that none of these papers are to be chosen from the following specialisations:

  • Geotechnical Engineering
  • Light Metals Reduction Technology
  • Medical Devices and Technologies
  • Plastics

An additional 30 points can be taken from approved 600 or 700 level courses at the University.


Entry requirements

Qualifications from the University of Auckland:

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering (Honours)
  • A GPA of 2.5 or higher in 120 points above Stage III
  • A relevant bachelors degree 
  • A GPA of 3.0 or higher in 75 points above Stage II


Qualifications from another tertiary institution:

  • An engineering degree or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field from a recognised university (or similar institution)
  • A GPE of 3.0
