Call for abstracts

The Fourth Mechanical Engineering Postgraduate Conference (MEPC 2018) will be held on Wednesday, 11 April 2018 at the University of Auckland. This conference brings together postgraduate students in the University's Department of Mechanical Engineering to present and discuss their research.

There will be two presentation categories: 10 minute presentations and 3 minute presentations. The 10 minute presentations are aimed at post provisional year PhD students and the 3 minute presentations are aimed at provisional year PhD students and ME students.

The conference will be broadly categorised into the following topics:

  • Composite materials
  • Bio/medical robots/devices
  • Natural fibre composites
  • Robot-assisted rehabilitation
  • Thermofluids
  • Dynamics, acoustics, control systems
  • Smart manufacturing
  • Smart materials/micro-systems
  • Engineering design/management
  • Others

You are invited to submit a 150 word abstract via the registration form. Please indicate your topic and if it is a 10 minute or 3 minute presentation.

  • Abstracts due: 21 March 2018
  • Conference: 11 April 2018
 

Venue and registration

Registrations are essential.

The conference will be held at 303-SLT1 and PLT1/2. 

All PhD students are expected to participate and present their research at MEPC 2018. If you can’t participate, you are expected to discuss this with your supervisor. ME students are encouraged to participate too. ME, MEngSt and Part IV students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering are welcome to attend the conference.
