Professor Rosalind Archer shortlisted for Energy Excellence Award
Professor Rosalind Archer, Head of the Department of Engineering Science, has been named as a finalist in the Energy Engineer of the Year category at the 2016 Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards.
The Energy Engineer of the Year award is presented to standout engineers working in the New Zealand who are “defined by their achievements” – this certainly applies to Professor Archer, who in addition to her responsibilities as Head of Department also holds the Mighty River Power Chair in geothermal reservoir engineering and is director of the Geothermal Institute. She was named a Distinguished Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) last year.
This is the first time that the University of Auckland has been featured in the awards.
The Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards are presented to people who are recognised for their excellence and achievements across the electricity, gas, petroleum and transport energy industries. This event has been held annually since 2010, and commonly attracts over 640 industry members at influencer and decision-maker levels.
